On Sept. 19, Peabody Opera House will host the third annual “Ozzie &Friends Concert: A Benefit for PGA Reach” to support the activities of the golf organization’s charitable arm, and everyone’s favorite, best-selling ’90s R&B group is showing up for the occasion: Boyz II Men, troubadours of “I’ll Make Love to You,” “End of the Road” and “Motownphilly,” will take a break from their Vegas residency to come east to support the benefit.
PGA Reach works to eliminate barriers to the game by using golf as a rehabilitation tool for veterans, helping kids get involved or making the game inclusive for people of all backgrounds. Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman says via email that the event was a great fit for the group, and not just because they’ve all been known to hit the links from time to time. “The work PGA Reach is doing with the military and youth is truly inspiring, which made us want to participate and help spread the word about their mission.”
At the gala, the three-man group will be forming well-loved hits, as well as songs from their new album, “Collide,” which was released last fall and “fuses rock, pop and funk with classic R&B,” says Stockman.
“Ozzie & Friends Concert” takes place Sept. 19 at 7:30pm at Peabody Opera House. For more info, head on over to the event’s page.
